I fitted a steering damper kit and for me it transformed the driving experience. The vague light feeling has gone along with steering shake on every pot hole. Very easy to fit and worth the money in my opinion. Steering still self centres and is still fine at slow speeds. Nothing special my kit, it uses the black (cheap) standard Land Rover damper. This was it:-
