YAY! it works!
fired up first time after a bit of cranking. Only initial problem was injectors not seated right and leaking fuel, easily sorted. quick test drive and its a new machine!
Low down power is a massive improvement, and it can hit 60 no problem on back roads now
Well chuffed with it

I'm jealous. I've had a Swift Sport engine sitting in my garage for 6 mths and I did start on the conversion but gave up on getting my engine out on my own. I am old (lol)

once you get it disconnected and unbolted its surprisingly easy to get it out, but theres a lot to disconnect and put back, most of which is fiddly or difficult to get at.
The water pump problem was easy to overcome with a 1mtr length of flexible coolant hose, some jubilee clips and a brass coupler.
Other than that it was time and making notes as you go to be certain.
it took me (on my own with an engine lift and various hand tools):
Saturday 8.00-16.30
Sunday 8.00-18.00
Monday 17.00-20.00
Tuesday 17.00-21.00
Ive bought a liana 1.6 throttle body (as swift was drive by wire), to try out, but upon inspection it looks identical to the one i already have, which is odd. will have a better look on another day.
Going to fetch it home from the workshop tomorrow night and see how it runs (30 mins on country roads). Was spot on earlier once the injectors were sorted out.
With all the stuff back on there's no difference to see under the bonnet at all, it just goes better
Will do an oil change after about 100 miles and see whats lurking in it to be on the safe side.

That's the problem I can't work that long especially underneath trying to get at awkward bolts. My back gives out after about 2hrs lol
Also as I would have to do it outside the weather would play a big part .

Curious as to what happened with the water pipe on the rear of the water pump.....could you have swapped it from the Jimny engine?
The 1.3 tb really strangles it.
