rough country hydro 8000 similar damping rates to the ES3000's

rough country Nitro 9000 similar damping rates to the ES9000's (Quote from Dave at llama 4x4)

the ES1000's are more of an OE damping rate so are "less stiff" than the others but are more stiffer than STD jimny shocks tho.

Set off from High Wycombe at about 11.00 am, to pick up a set of radius arms fitted with superpro poly bushes, which l purchased for £100 on Sat 4 Feb from James (Nobby22) in Horsham W Sussex, around trip of 128 miles had a bit of a chat and a good look at James Jimny for about an hour, then had to leave to return home before the snow came.
Got home at about 4.00 pm and started on fitting the radius arms to my jimny had to drill two new hole for the vac pipes on the driver's side arm as james( Nobbys22) jimny was a later model, remove the off side arm first and fitted the nuts+bolts, then the near side, just finish as it started to snow so l had to give it a test drive.
Don't know how l put up with the steering, with out the ploy bushes it's like a new car.

So they went on ok then? :) I will put some pics up of my new ones at some point. Only got a few, as you know they didnt go on to easily so i wasnt in the mood for piccies  . Is the steering better now?
I havnt had a go at the steering box on mine yet. You will have to remind me how to do it  .
Almost forgot to ask, how was it drilling into the arms?

Nobby

The drilling was easy just drill two hole threw the two little lugs on the middle of the arms and bolted on the vac pipes .

Not a lot done on the jimny this year, had to move the towbar electrics on to the bumper so it don't getting damaged off-roading.

Also replaced one of the tie-rod ends after getting some death wobble at 45 mph' so it's not always the king pins.
On my jimny it's been the wheels balancing and two tie-rod ends, 40,000 miles on the same king pins not to bad.

As you can see from the photo of the tie-rod ends, they have two different length threads so you will need to measure as in the photo, from the outside of the tie-rod end to the locking nut, so it fit in the same place as the old one on the steering bar.
Hope this helps.
Dirtydogz ;)

Off to the rubbish tip today with all the wood panelling which was ripped out of the bathroom and the wife's surfboard, ;) I've got to say the tow-bar and the trailer are the best mods i've fitted on to the jimny, that's if you can count the trailer as a mod B)

I just fitted the same towbar as you've got Barry.
Quite a nice bit of kit although I struggled a bit with fitting. Think my tie-down eyes have been used for towing something in the past and got a bit bent so they were in the way.
All on now (well part from the electrics which I was going to put exactly where you have)...

I thought you had some shackles on the towbar for recovery, or did I dream it?
