If worried go to halfords and buy their silver spark plug gap tool. Gap sensors look like claws, it's about 5.99. Don't buy the cheap one it's only for below 1mm gaps. Has gap adjuster plates on it too

If you don't have the ability to measure them yourself it's clearly best to leave them alone. It's not a critical tolerance; they will work just fine as they come in the box.

You just need to ckmbine them together so they are 1mn thick. Then slide them in the gap. It should fit in without wobble, however it's not life or death, if it is slightly loose then it should be fine

As busta said they should be fine as long as they are the right ones for the car

You are doing well Dawn, I'm no master mechanic either. A small plastic ruler is about a mm thick on its edge. Try that also, but plugs should be fine as each model of car those plugs are designed for will have same or similar gaps

Is there not one with 1.0mm written on it? Otherwise, add together numbers that add up to 1. E.g. 0.8+0.2, 0.7+0.3, 0.53+0.47 etc. On your specific feeler gauges, use the lower 'mm' numbers. The upper number is the thickness in thousandths of an inch.
