Swift 1.6vvt engine into a 2007 vvt jimny project

Riccy.
It rather depends on what you intend to do with that power. Braking power is relative to weight and speed, the engine is about the same weight and if you aren't going any faster then then you don't need extra braking. The 1.6 is lower revving so with the same gearing the top speed is usually a little lower - I don't think anyone ever really notices because not many modified Jimnys are driven at high speeds. If you are overgeared then you may get some top speed improvement but its unlikely to be as fast as a stock Jimny.
I can confirm top speed is definitely higher with the 1.6. Although it peaks slighty sooner, the 1.6 is still making more power than the 1.3 at 6,000rpm. Not that the 1.3 will pull 6000rpm in 5th...

And how quickly you can get back up to speed to get another heat cycle in the brakes.

I will get the swift engine stripped down this weekend (dependant on weather) and have a look at the throttle body and try and post some pics. i think it might be different to the liana inlet system, but will post some pics of it for info.
The braking issue is something ive had issue with for a while. Its mainly manifest when towing, and has got worse since going to 235 tyres, to the point where i wonder if it will stop sometimes. I have also managed to warp discs in the past with it so i think some extra braking will help (and please the insurance company!).
Im not really after top end speed, mearly want to be able to use 5th gear on anything other than a downhill again

Yes they all do. The limiter cuts in at around 6,600rpm on the m13 and I think higher on the earlier G series engines. Peak power isn't until 6,000rpm so it should sail past 5,500.
