A change in temperature and impact is the best way! Get your hands on an impact gun and a socket to fit, hammer it for a while then big breaker bar, hammer it, breaker bar, it will come loose. Might struggle to jack it high enough to get the breaker bar on it, if a breaker bar isn't long enough, a hollow tube (scaffold pole) helps extend it/add mega leverage.

this might sound stupid but when you say use a half inch ratchet do I just use the bit the sockets go on?

Yes exactly that it sometimes helps if you get someone to hold it in place then give it a good yank (pull)
