diff guards

anyone know much about these www.kapsuzuki4x4.co.uk/suzuki/jimny.php ? (about 1/2-3/4 down the page)

they look a better option than weld on ones but how much are they? do they put alot of strain on the diff casing as im guessing they mount using the bolts holding the diff together? is anybody using them?

there dosnt really seem much out there in the world of jimny diff protection, landrover ones are everywhere and seem reasonably cheap! why does no one like jimnybits or ora do slider type bolt on guards?

or is it because our diff housings are hardcore and dont need protecting?!

from what i here our diff casings are thin and week, im also thinking of some sort of guard and was just about to through up a qestion just like this but asking what people use, i think the slidder type mite add to the limited clearance bollow the diffs, im steering towards the weld on type

ive heard that about landy diffs and how there made from tin cans but not about ours, you would think if they were weak diff guards would be readily available (like landrover ones are)?

they dont look like they would hang down very much, need to look at the diff really to see what sort of spacing there is from the bolts to the bottom of the casing.

hopefully someone on here uses them and can tell us.

i suppose the idea is is that you slide over what you hit so the reduction in clearance might not be an issue.

ive heard rumours of peoples axels being damaged during the welding process so am abit reluctant to do that would rather bolt something on :laugh:

yea they look the sh*$ but you know there going to be 100's of golden nuggets each

ive seen defender diff guards for as little as 20quid each!!!

Here is my front diff/axle guard, lightweight but better than nothing.
