Waiting for the cage is driving me nuts........
Doesn't feel right to be chasing it up....... Just grateful that it is being done whilst the Covid crisis is playing out.
The arches that Riccy suggested have turned up, a little big for my wheel and tyre combo but I think I can use them with some trimming and a pair of Dakar "raid" style loose mud flaps. On the raid cars the rear arch finishes high and a flappy rain guard covers the rear of the tyre.
I have been wanting to fit some on the front for a while, the side of the car gets covered in crap when it's wet, especially driving lanes....

The cage being fitted without my presence is a concern, I need to pass on my thoughts on how it should look to Terry & Reece.
Most of the look is dictated by WKD Fabrications who are bending & cutting the tubes to supply a kit. I have spent hours looking for inspiration (sometimes controversially)....

The Jimny with the wheel under the tray is by far better looking of all those options.

Yep I'd agree with Lambert on that - aesthetics stand for something

The cage problem has been resolved, Terry at the workshop suggested just fitting the rear hoop and tray for now, thereby getting the arches and lights done and allowing the cars use.
The Finance Fuhrer is a nurse and may be redeployed, so I need transport to allow me get across and feed my old mum everyday.... It's been ok bombing about in the Fhurer wagon .... 200hp Polo gti that never goes above 70mph normally, even though the drive to mums is only 5mins, there is a 60 with a few fast bends. They are very tight, fast cars, if anyone is considering a hot hatch, you could do far worse.
So, a Jimny UTE until it is safe for me to go out....
I will be joining Terry and Reece to fit the front of the cage, so I will have full artistic control as it were....
Got to thank the guys yet again, making two visits to the cage will cost them more money....

(Breaking news..... just got word from Matt at WKD and the cage is on a pallet, ready to ship. Arrives end next week latest)
