I presume they will have it on trade plates to get it back and I won't be able to use it, no mud guards and lights. I will be able to prep and paint the rear chassis before the cage is fitted. I would also like to do something with the exhaust....

They're doing first class job Sniper - dead happy for you. Whats your plan of attack for the chassis, what products are you planning to use to clean it up?

Reece did a sterling job cleaning the chassis, he also coated the front half, I'll have to find out what in......

My choice would be Buzzweld stabilising primer and raptor top coat......

Cleaning would be manual, wire brush, grinder if needed.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationWow! B) thats looking good mate!

Very quick work there too, well done indeed.

Love the trailerboard for rear lights

Have a look on this link for some good quality lights: www.carbuilder.com/uk/lighting

and have a look at these for rear wheel arches:

...although you could be better off with some single wheel versions (ask Dave Jones - I think he might have some or a link for them ;-) )

I fitted some of above arches to the trailer today and found them much easier to cut to fit than the ones on ulysses (different sort of plastic i think)

It looks brilliant Sniper. That sounds like a really good approach to rust-proofing the chassis. I went with dinitrol for mine but if I were to do it again I'd use something like Buzzweld.

Looks mint pal
Has for rear lights you know i like cheap to replace stuff
So here's my two pence worth
RTC 5012 x2 with yellow bulbs
RTC 5523 x4 2 for stop tail 2 for fogs 1 each side
RTC 5524 x2 yellow (i would have clear with yellow bulbs)
RCT 496 in the middle for reverse

If i where to fit these type i would cut it in half and leave the tyres exposed from the rear
And put other one in shed to make replacements if one gets damaged :)

Two tins of Buzzweld CIO on the way, that should tidy the chassis, I'll do the axle too if there is any left... Lazy one coat approach but it is a good quality coating.

Terry has a couple of arches tucked away, he is going to fit those when the cage goes on, thanks for the suggestions though. I presume they will be similar to the ones on his green pick up.

The car has been home for nearly 72 hours....... As I'm high risk (bad ticker) I have had to quarantine the bloody car !!!!! Cleaning the interior and painting the exposed chassis rails will commence tomorrow.

Matt from " WKD Fabrications" sent a message this morning, the steel arrived yesterday and he is cutting / bending today....

If the cage is half as cool as the company logo, it should be a pearl....
