That's some pretty serious raid style suspension kit right there. I would suggest that unless you are wanting to upset nemesis or erx drivers it's not entirely necessary to have so much adjustment on a Jimny. Unless you are planning on getting air on sweet lamb on a weekend, if so can I come and crew for you?

I have had a good look around the car now and put a few K on it, beginning to get a" handle" on it Lambert.
If I choose wisely, I think might be able to have my cake and eat it.
A robust and accurate (adjustable) steering geometry, top end damping, 16" tarmac tyres, 15" forest tyres, 1300cc screamer on throttle bodies.... sounds more like a rally car than a 4x4.
Not really surprising it's where my limited experience lays, my aim I suppose is to find a damper/spring/height combination that will need only damper rates and the change in sidewall flex of the tyre to take it from "tarmac" to "forest".
A compromise on tough off roading but I still think with the ATB diffs front and back, it will be pretty capable.
The ability to do on car adjustments keeps the work within my remit, so keeps long term costs down and allows fine tuning over time.
I do keep watching those diesel brothers programmes and wondering what they could do to a Jimny. If you can sort one those, I'll happily be the idiot doing 60 at the ramp........

Right well, that's essentially Ermintrude, or will be when I get the 18s funded. Suspension wise for reliability and easy replacement I am using stock components but with sports dampers. Keeps the off road performance to a point where with the 4x4 engaged mobility is not compromised too much on the stock wheels. However on road the sports dampers control over cornering forces is almost beyond physics. Add in the lack of flex of going from a 70 profile to a 45 and an extra 60mm of rubber per axle and serious handling is imminent.

Have a look at Koni heavy track shocks. they make an adjustable damper kit for standard height jimnys..
