As my buggy was off-the-road (in the wrong sense of the phrase!), I was going to jump in the NGV and drive to Brett's to be his passenger, but the the NGV also broke down... At the eleventh hour, my missus lent me her Mokka... So...
I managed to jump in with Brett for the day, in his Jalapeno Jimny
Breakfast at the Rooster in Penrith with Riccy with his mate and gateboy for the day Joel Who kindly paid for brekkie!
Riccy leading and Joel opening (and closing!) most of the gates for the day
In the awesome Ulysses...
Around thirty greenlanes and fords in the day, here's just a few summary photos..
Tyneside... I hate this 'lane! even worse as a passenger sitting on the left side!!!
These photos and more will appear in Brett's Blog real soon, so I won't spoil it...
Thanks to Riccy and Joel for plotting and leading, and to Brett for having me as a passenger for the day!

Just nipped around to check on progress and found it running outside, warming up to check everything is okay...
The head has been skimmed again, I've supplied the head bolts* (via the BugJimny store - banner at the top of the page ), and hopefully it's good to go if we get some nice weather over the winter months... otherwise it's getting driven four metres out of the garage and having a car cover thrown over it whilst I hide in the garage tinkering with the next one - the "lil-bugga" buggy...
* the rest has been done under warranty of the head work I had done in July at a cost of £800. Pleased with that, but don't want to see my mechanic mate out of pocket either...
As long as it's coming back I'd better clear some room when I finishing working in the the garage on Sunday then!

Five weeks later! Anyone remember this thing -A quick update on the buggy…
James (Priestley) contacted me on Saturday morning for some metric fine nuts for one of his latest builds, and asked what he owed me… so I said “some advice!”…
Si I described the issues with the head on the buggy and he immediately asked, “we’re the head bolts reused or replaced…”
Long story short, the garage are redoing the head…
MANY THANKS to James ince again!…

No work in the garage on Sunday due to a head cold that's going around...
But I managed half a day today, to make...
An ARB disconnect system for our-Alan, who now has his own Jimny!
Including an axle bracket that one of the previous owners had cut off!

Hello All
just a little update as I’ve been absent for a while how… On the 12th of December I was walking down the carpeted staircase in our home and felt a Twang! like an elastic band going in my right foot?! I went to see the GP that week and he had a look and prescribed antibiotics for the apparent swelling, so I duly took the course, but then booked another appointment a week later as it was worse… I saw a different GP the second time and on inspecting it he said it wasn’t skin tissue it was bone mass?! Something had moved in my foot, so he made a few phone calls and then printed off a referral letter, and told me to get straight to A&E…
A few X-Rays confirmed, thar crescent shaped bone has dislocated and moved anti-clockwise out of the foot, hence the big “swelling”. This was the 29th of December… being as I live locally they let me return home, but I had to be back at 6:30am to be prepped for theatre. So I duly turned up, sar there for a couple of hours while all the other patients in the room got taken away and prepped for anaesthetics and their operations…
So I ended up waiting on my own until the bone consultant and his little entourage appeared and he explained he wasn’t happy to do it without the foot consultant being in theatre with him… Fair enough? Safety in numbers, I’d rather they did it properly. So I was sent home…
THREE WEEKS pass and more phone calls to the hospital than I could keep track of. It appeared I’d got lost between the two departments.
So fast forward to the 23rd of January and I finally snapped and asked my youngest daughter to drop me back at A&E and I’d just sit there until they sort me out…
And here I still am?! Four weeks today… four visits to theatre, the offending bone as been removed and three wires / pins inserted, I’m now waiting for a transfer to Aintree Hospital for their foot specialist to fit two titanium plates over where the bone was…
So I’m not sure on the healing and recovery times, so I’ve just SORN’d both Suzuki’s for the foreseeable, and will lapse the buggy’s insurance as it’s due for renewal on the 9th of March, the NGV is sat in my yard / drive still insured just in case…
In the meantime, way back in December I also reapplied for my three years medical licence (Type One Diabetic AND Wet Macculas in both eyes) as that runs out on the 28th of this month…
So it’s all up in the air for now, just need to get back on my foot and get my licence renewed…
I haven’t therefore booked for the BigJimny Event yet, have to see how life goes… but I want to be back modifying and Greenlaning later this year…
Oooh, the other thing, when I was admitted I spent the first evening in a hospital bed deleting all the ZookBOB eBay listings… so hopefully they’ll pop back up when I’m on my feet!

Just in case anyone spotted “The Boogie” for sale on eBay… it’s had a reprieve and has been withdrawn from sale…
I’m now looking forward to getting out and about when the summer eventually comes, and my foot is fixed… The cage round my foot has a “prescription” of rod adjustments until the 21/4/22, and then they’re inserting four 8mm diameter (medical!) screws in pairs from the front and back of the foot into bones in the middle of my foot somewhere, to hold the realigned foot and rebuilt arch (the foot has fallen flat with the dislocated bone having been removed) all in place… So hopefully by the end of this month I should be released and repatriated back to Wales… lol
Some more recuperating and physio and I should be set for some summer ‘Laning…. If the authorities still allow it…!
