Is it? Is this the location of the legendary door?! :woohoo:

None of us would drive over it that day... only our Brett!

When we lifted the door, there was air under it!!!

Happy days...!

This was a different lane. This landslip would probably be possible to drive with some help from the winch (Daves hoop on the roof would be ideal!). Its irrelevant as you can only go about 150mtrs past it through the old metal gate before you hit the river Esk, and thats far too deep/fast for a jimny to cross.

Ive been and had a look at 'door' lane last year and theres barely even the fence left, never mind that gate and dodgy door/bridge

Your on. Might be going around that area again for my annual Halloween birthday outing this year, you would be more than welcome :-)

Spent since yesterday evening reading through, well documented and good work ! Got the first jimny about a month ago now but been stuck prepping until metal arrives for repairs and then it will be onto adding ‘nice bits’. Keep it up

You have an open invite as always, along with Dave & Sniper, theres always space for you guys ;-)

Sounds a decent 5 car group with Lambert there :-)

Though I think Halloween this year clashes with one of the JJaunts planned trips...

Found the old video I took of 'door' lane. Turns out its nearly 2 years ago I looked at it (and dont expect any improvement):

The fencepost on the right in the video is the one with the gate on it in Dave's pictures. The riverside fence was gone along with the gate and tree.

What would the position be legally I wonder ? Would the right of way remain and now become a ford ?

I think it would need more of a Bailey bridge than a door now lol....

After the two last trips out I had noticed that the engine bay temps are getting a bit high and causing the flashing EML light programmed into the new ECU (as my temp gauge doesn't work, that is programmed as a warning, set at 100 degrees C).

The thought then turned to venting the bonnet somehow. The big suzuki 'S' cut into the bonnet plate seemed the obvious choice. I know Keithy makes a nice set of bonnet vents, but these wouldnt work with my checkerplate covers.

Bonnet off and cut/weld-in some directional mesh, orientated to get the passing air to suck out hopefully...

checkerplate sat on for an idea:

then off to paint it

thats red primer. Ive since added some metallic silver topcoat to the mesh. Might have looked better red, but will see tomorrow when it dries and I can put the top plate back on. Should let out a bit of heat hopefully :-)

That’s neat Riccy!

I’ve got some of Keithy’s vents to go on mine... errr, with no wings too!

Just needs a red lamp under there now! B) shining up through the S
