Running today without leaks of petrol all over the place and air into the manifold where it shouldn't be.
Johnny put a basic tune map from DTAfast onto the ECU and we ran it like that to balance the throttle bodies in situ as well as check temps, sensors, etc. Seemed to be running, if a little badly so we got it in and onto the dyno machine. Strapped it down and Johnny spent a bit of time changing a million and one little settings on the computers. Was going pretty well until we got a few odd sensor failures from the crank sensor, which then got worse as it got warmer. Thats a general symptom of them failing, so nipped home and pinched one from a scrap engine in the garage, went back and fitted only for it to be even worse than the one we were using once it warmed up
Now on the hunt for another crank sensor locally, if not I suspect it will be at least Tuesday before I can get one mail order somewhere. Ive asked Martin of course in the hope he can get me one for Monday perhaps.

Painful how much time the little bits take to sort, I have only ever run carbs on a dyno and they take enough time.....
I loved the short run video..... promise of things to come

New crank sensor arrived late yesterday so left it until today before going round to JDM dyno.
New sensor fitted and working thankfully! Johnny finished off the dyno mapping (incredibly complicated fuel mapping stuff using the rolling road to simulate load as he went through different rev ranges/loading). Then it was onto a few power runs
Best we made was 130hp and 127ft-lb of torque. Doesnt sound as much as I had hoped for, but when you take into account the losses from the huge tyres and complicated drivetrain its not bad. Certainly makes a difference when you drive it, much smoother power and much more power at any rev range happy customer!
Dyno graph:
some videos of it running:
We also fiddled about with wiring the A/C back in sucessfully. The dash temp guage still wont work, which is annoying, but I have a warning at 85deg when the a/c fan is set to start running and a further warning at 100 degrees where the EML light on the dash will flash rapidly, so should be ok without the little dial for now. It is something I want to sort out if possible however. Final snag is we have been forced to choose between the VVT solenoid or the second set of injectors. This isnt really a big deal until higher RPMs when the standard 1.3 injectors are at 90% duty cycle (not ideal). This issue could be sorted out with an S80 ecu instead of the S60 we are using atm. Its only £100 more, so I am tempted to go for it and get it all in properly.
The bonnet is on just the first part of the latch as the airbox is hitting it, so I need to sort that out and connect into the snorkel somehow. Have managed to get it home, but obviously cant drive it anywhere due to a) coronavirus and b) bonnet not closed properly.
