Thanks for the positive comments guys, I wanted to keep it fairly standard ish but with mods that are needed, The more I use it the more I learn what is needed, for example I will be making up some rock sliders and radius arm mount guards after getting stuck the other week. I bottomed out right on the radius arm mount and had to use the waffle boards to get out along with the wife pushing

Mudman I did think about leaving my options open for a winch in the future but presently I don’t really see the need and if plans change it would not take too much cutting and fab work to modify it to accept a winch. Also the wife if using the Jimny to learn to drive so mods have to be kept to a minimum due to insurance and I think a winch would have to be declared :(

Very nice Jimny.
Loving those tyres!

You gave me some good ideas for the jack mounts.

Thanks to Mark for pointing me in the right direction for the drain plugs and where to fill it from, I got around to changing my gearbox and transfer box oil at the weekend, new oil is now in and I just need to try and get these breathers on when I can get it on a ramp and have a bit more space to play with.

I will update tomorrow with some pics of the finished recovery points as I left my SD card at home tonight.

I also have some templates drawn up for some radius arm protection that will need to be cut out and welded up when I get a chance to buy some more welding wire.

A bit of a photo update today

Rear recovery points

Front recovery points

I still need to cut some black trim to surround the front recovery points and cover the hole that they come through.

I plan of making a more perment sollution to use my hi-lift jack that will lock in to the holes using the shackle and lock on to the jack, however in the mean time the shackle does sit nicely on the hi-lift jack and it very secure , it will get me out of trouble should I need to lift the car in an emergencey.

I have also finished off some more permenent fixings for the jack and waffle boards on to the roof rack.
