well i no who im going to come see when my cage comes off so i can fit my jack and boards to the roof rack may need a step ladder to get them on and off thow lol

Just an idea for your waffle board and jackmounts so you don't have to have a spanner handy:
It's just a thick disc with a nut welded to it and some rod welded to that to give you something to undo it with. I also have a cable lock keepingthem locked to the roof so the light fingered brigade can't take them too easily. If they really want them they'll just cut them but they'll always steal what they want.

Kirkynut, thanks for that, I did consider using wingnuts or something similar to what you have but as you say I wanted to make it harder for any thieving scum to get their hands on them, the Jack has a padlock around it when on there but i don’t leave it on there for any real length of time.
I have a spare spanner the right size that I leave in the glove box so I should always have a way of getting them off.
As you say if they want them it’s not hard they could just remove the whole rack if they really wanted.
