Hi Halford,

Just read the last 12 months of your thread. Good price for the Cat. I need to buy one for my Jim as the pipe has been welded 3 times and the exhaust hanger on the Cat pipe is rotted through.

I noticed from the picture that it appears that your link pipe is larger. Is the silencer original? I'm considering a Powerflow stainless system to go with the new Cat.

Thanks in advance.

yeh fozzie, very observant,

initially put the s/s powerflow back box on connected to the OEM jimny middle pipe, the s/s bore was slightly larger and slipped over the OEM pipe and was then clamped

then eventually changed the middle pipe, and the motor factor pipe was larger bore than the OEM (probably the same as the s/s pipe), so to overcome the mismatch re: connection to s/s back box, we took a "good section" of the old knackered middle pipe, chopped it out and welded it to the end of the new middle pipe, so it fit to the back box as if nothing had changed -.................... I hope I've explained this correctly so you can follow what I mean, as now even I'm getting confused

if you put on a new cat section, the powerflow guys should be able to match a s/s system to somehow fit, but they may need to chop the standard cat compression fitting .... best to check it out with then first though.

;)

new starter motor fitted today - thanks to Gaz ;)

bugger to remove the old one ... like most things Jimny - bolts seized solid and difficult to access

what a difference .... starts great,

shame it still runs and drives like a Jimny though

change of plan, just replaced the two front original Grabber AT2's with the newer ATs, so now have 4 matching ATs

lot cheaper replacing 2 at £74 each than x4 BFGs at £111 each

was still 6mm on the old AT2's
but now with the 11mm tread new ATs I've got a 5mm lift :woohoo:
the weird thing is that I can tell the car feels higher and it actually deals with bumps and rides so much better

now just need to re-cable tie the bumper as its catching the nearside tyre on full lock

;)

well guys, after 6 years - it's time to say goodbye
the dog-taxi has gone, it's been a blast
but I can't understand how I managed to use it as my everyday car for all that time

long live the new dog-taxi :woohoo:
civilization has arrived

I'm sure I'll still lurk around in the background as old habits are hard to break,

now I wonder where I can get a 3 inch yeti lift from
