just a little update as it's been a while, DRLs now fitted and wired up

just got them from Halfrauds during a flash sale

connected them to the [strike]tea[/strike] side lights so I can control when they're on/off
(connect one wire to sidelight red/yellow and the other to an earth point - simples)

pretty pleased with them, they are bright and quite neat.

Look good them hal I want something like that for my thundertank seen as tho ive chopped half my bumper off and lost the fog lights lol

as mentioned elsewhere, my aircon compressor died recently (guess I shouldn't have had the system re-gassed last year - one thing tends to trigger something else when things get old) :blink:

actually felt it go when driving at 60mph, the belt which also drives the power steering slipped as the bearing went and through the steering wheel it felt like the car surged several times, thought I was loosing power.

at idle you can hear whirring sounds a bit like a cheap electric kettle reaching boiling point.



The simple solution was to use a shorter belt for the power steering, the one for non-a/c trucks -
"part number 4PK850 micro-V multi-ribbed belf"
this bypasses the aircon compressor
it's a nice cheap fix as it doesn't foul and the busted AC pump can stay where it is, saves taking the aircon compressor off.

Hi Halford, My air con has recently gone too, Suzuki quoted over £700 just for the part. I picked up a used compressor from a local scrapyard for £70 with a 3 month warranty but have yet to fit it. in the meantime im going to do as you have said use the shorter belt. thank you for this!

Mine also sounded like yours, a friend of mine does air conditiong units and pumps ofr a living he said it looks like the clutch has gone inside the compressor which makes it cut out when it needs to.

:ohmy: £700, yes, thought they'd be a main dealer part only

certainly worth trying a salvaged pump for that price with a mate regassing for you

But regassing alone would cost me £50,
Just going to have to keep the Windows open and pretend it's a soft top :whistle:
