I thought about this but I think having room for abit of flex/bending space will be good, recon ive lost at most 10mm of clearance which is better than a fu*#@d diff or axle. Will have to wait till its fitted to see exactly how much ive lost but it shouldnt matter as itll slide over whatever you hit hopefully.

Deffo, ive got my guard flush up with the diff and the gc loss is nothing,im toying with re-designing mine a bit so that it follows the axel rather than goes straight across.
Yea the jimny made it look easy,i left my camera running in the jimny while the td5 was going up,took the lad 5-6 mins to get up,but will give him his due it was only his 2nd time laning and he did well, damaged the back light in the process, when i watched the full video as i cropped it for youtube there was a couple of bloke standing next to the jimny who also had a disco and you can here them saying "if that cant get up this has got no chance" needless to say after hearing that i was quite chuffed.
i travelled 70 miles to the meeting point to get to those lanes and well worth the drive and tank of fuel for the day,id say if you had good tyres and underneath protection you would get up but id be more inclined to go up to the left and not the right the way i went, tbh i wasnt going to go up that way as i thought my sills would take a hit but after a pajero and td5 took a bash at it i had to have a go a pleased i did.
