Paint finally started. Finishing off the filler, sanding and prep has taken much longer than I initially expected, but worth putting the effort in I feel :dry:
Finished off the filler and sanding first, which took a few goes and will likely need further once the primer has dried and I can see how dodgy it is.
Not many pics today, but next update should be colour going onto the body and panels, onto primer underseal rust inhibitor stuff for underneath and the roll cage, then colour on them as well

Bit of a more pleasurable day today. FINALLY SOME COLOUR ON!:silly: :lol: :silly: :lol:
RAL 3013 Tomato red to be exact. Mixed into the tintable upol raptor paint and applied with a variable nozzle shutz gun set to about 40psi. Remarkable how easy it is (this is my first time spraying). I suspect proper car 2 pack is harder to get looking good. With this you just gently layer it on until it looks right. Easy to patch bits as well (caught a bit with the airline
).
As you can see from the last pic the texture is fairly course, but seems to level a little as it dries. Pretty pleased with how its come out
Just need some royal mail/postman pat stickers :laugh:
