Yes, centre difflock comes standard. Apparently it's a really beefy t-box, built Russian tough!
It'll probably be a while before I go ahead with the conversion, as I'll probably get HD cv's at the same time. I mentioned it in a thread some time back and rockwatt said he'd be able to do the whole thing. If I remember correctly he even had some niva t-box gearing lying around at his workshop.

Don't forget they are now only supplied in LHD although the speedo and lights are converted.

Thats ideal. They're too slow to overtake anything, so RHD isn't needed in that regard, and the driver can park up and step straight out onto the pavement.

As it happens I was across at BB motors in Corby today with my MGF for a diagnostic (they are rover specialists as well) and they had a couple of Nivas in stock and one old RHD Niva (not for sale)
Seeing them side by side not much has changed but one thing I did notice is that the new ones don't have a spare wheel on the back or even any evidence of blanked off holes for a bracket??
Mind you they are very basic inside and they make the Jimny look luxurious

Ah scrap that about the spare it's under the bonnet (see the top gear link )
Maybe it's because the old one I compared it with has much larger wheels than the new one??

Interesting as they may be, I'm not totally sure I'd want one, certainly not as a daily driver. A Jimny has about all the "character" I can handle!
