whyyy suzuki why?? was created by Tommo

When driving home after work today, I was sat in traffic and was surprised when I saw the badge "vitara" on the back

I could have sworn I was looking at a qashqai, or some sort of Hyundai i10/ i100000000000 or what ever they are now.
It's now just a very normal boring looking SUV, I would say 4x4 but it doesn't even have the rite to be called that.

It's not even 4WD as standard it's an option on all but the top of the range!!

It's what the market wants sadly. We are in a minority. The Vitara was one of the first small SUVs, and they need to keep it relevant to the SUV market.

The saddest thing is the Jimny isn't going to be made for much longer, and the replacement definitely won't share the ladder chassis, live axle construction that makes the Jimny what it is.

Why? Because corrosover at worst, soft roader at best is what people are buying. Suzuki can't base their business model on a few beard chewers who fit chunky remoulds and go and get muddy, because there ain't very many of us. Even Land Rover have given up trying to sell to a market that has all but ceased to exist.
