Installed a turbo blanket to keep the hood temperatures down. Has some benefits of quicker spool up time apparently. Thought I should be proactive as the temperature around the Turbo was intense and I am sure something would either melt or malfunction. The coil packs felt super hot and I reckon the paint could foul on the bonnet.

Will upload a video of it in action soon. The car is a absolute beast now. I may delete the muffler as the exhaust is so quiet now but the dump valve is very loud which is great fun. I am going to cut out the bumper where the number plate currently is and put a DTM style exhaust in the centre. Took the spare wheel off and ordered a cover (picture below)

At the moment the car has no temperature gauge. The ECU software has a protection setup so it will cut the revs if it goes over a certain threshold. I could probably get the gauge working but I want to know the exact temperature so decided to have a CAN gauge that gives me real time information from the ECU. This gauge means I can see, water temp, boost pressure, inlet air temperature (lower=more power) lots of other info. Ordered it and it was delivered to a neighbour who has gone away for the weekend, at least I have the weekend to drive the car instead of wiring that thing in. Can Bus wiring is pretty straight forward even for a novice like me.

When the engines exhaust gasses hit the turbine in the turbo, it baffles the sound, I am hoping I can lose the whole muffler as it will increase the flow and make it sound sportier. It’s so silent now it’s sereal! I keep thinking it’s stalled at idle

Fitted a spoiler that was well made (or copied) but the fixing system supplied didn’t work so it has been bonded with tiger seal and there are two holes in the rear door that I drilled and there are two bolts on the spoiler that are loosely inserted. Should hold as it’s purely cosmetic. I also put the CAN gauge on and routed the cables. Will wire it when it’s not 30 degrees.

need to replace the steering wheel. The rubber has come loose from the metal. The jimny steering is vague enough let alone when the actual wheel moves! was looking a few options:
-replace original for same generation (looks most sensible)
-put one on from a swift sport (not sure if it will fit)
-put quick release and delete airbag (never a good idea to remove life saving devices)
any ideas?

I have already decided I am going to forge the engine. The Jimny is rapid with 150BHP but I want to make it more ridiculous. Before I took it to the Dyno I changed the suspension damping to the hardest setting. It has transformed it at speed and feels planted. I believe I will only need to put forged rods in and bearings for them.
this company specialises in Suzuki is awesome and the owner is super helpful. They have these rods:
K1 Connection Con Rod Set For Suzuki Swift Sport ( 2005 Onwards) - CTC Performance Car Parts (ctc-performance.co.uk)
