Its the silly little things like that which are why I get my mot man to give the car a once over on the Sunday before the test. Saves the agro of a retest. Most of the time.

Wednesday, my day off...
All 12 points addressed this morning, wandered around to book a retest... "20 minutes suit you?"
Passed!
Roll on the 9th of October for our annual day trip to the Lake District to drive all the best 'lanes in one day

A few recent repairs...
I managed to bend my custom front panhard rod on our last trip to the Machynlleth area... to drive the B*st&rd, so my steering wheel was at 2 o'clock when driving in a straight line... so round to my mate's garage, up on the ramps, panhard taken off and adjusted so that the axle was equally spaced across the front, and with the steering wheel clamped straight, the whole lot was checked with laser alignment kit.
I've also recently replaced all the bushes in the front radius arms, and this morning I've taken the spring assisted return-to-centre steering damper off, and put the old one back on... I think the spring was making things worse rather than better, leave that for the Landies I think...
I also sourced a new rope thimble for the rear winch rope today, a few local suppliers before I struck lucky! So that's fitted, and I finished up by having a thorough check of all the nuts under the Jim', checked the winches, respooled their ropes, etc, ready for our impending day trip to the Lake District on Sunday...

Stopped by the Police to see where we'd been and where we were going...
And then names and registrations taken to check legality...
Thumbs up! Good to see them policing the 'lanes and keeping the knobheads off!
