Its the silly little things like that which are why I get my mot man to give the car a once over on the Sunday before the test. Saves the agro of a retest. Most of the time.

A few recent repairs...
I managed to bend my custom front panhard rod on our last trip to the Machynlleth area... to drive the B*st&rd, so my steering wheel was at 2 o'clock when driving in a straight line... so round to my mate's garage, up on the ramps, panhard taken off and adjusted so that the axle was equally spaced across the front, and with the steering wheel clamped straight, the whole lot was checked with laser alignment kit.
I've also recently replaced all the bushes in the front radius arms, and this morning I've taken the spring assisted return-to-centre steering damper off, and put the old one back on... I think the spring was making things worse rather than better, leave that for the Landies I think...
I also sourced a new rope thimble for the rear winch rope today, a few local suppliers before I struck lucky! So that's fitted, and I finished up by having a thorough check of all the nuts under the Jim', checked the winches, respooled their ropes, etc, ready for our impending day trip to the Lake District on Sunday...

Stopped by the Police to see where we'd been and where we were going...
And then names and registrations taken to check legality...
Thumbs up! Good to see them policing the 'lanes and keeping the knobheads off!

Finally sorted out my Death Wobble
At first I changed -
The kingpin bearings, shimmed them a little whilst I was doing it...
All the front radius arm bushes
The bushes in the front panhard rod
But no, the Death Wobble was still there...
So this weekend I took off -
The Zanfi drop pitman arm
The Zanfi Panhard Rod drop bracket, and
The BENT* Bent Stainless Panhard Rod that Rockwatt made me to get around the clash between the two Zanfi products.
And then fitted a JimnyBits straight panhard rod and a stock pitman arm...
WOBBLE SORTED! :woohoo:
Zanfi bits to be sold...
Went for an hours test drive round some country 'lanes close to me yesterday (Sunday) after rebuilding it all, and have been around and about on errands today on the roads where I'd normally get a wobble...
Love for my Jimny rekindled!
* I bent the bent panhard rod on the Machynlleth "Bastard Lane" trip, mentioned above

Hello! and Sorry! I've not updated the build / usage thread for far too long...
And so, an update...
No real mods done to the S200KYS Jimny since the last update really, just maintenance / inspections to keep it going whilst we've done the following trips -
Local Bimble on the 13/11/16
Strata Florida Area 27/11/16
Banking as the crow flies 28/11/16
Local (North Wales) Bimble 11/12/16
Christmas 'Laning 27/12/16
Our next planned trip is Staffordshire and the Peak District on the 22/01/17.
I should be fiddling again with S200KYS soon though, always something to do...
