My 2011 Rebuild

Shocks will be Rough Country.

Price is likely to be £360 ( 4x shocks and 4 x Springs) plus courier delivery.

Didn't get to work on it today as I spent all day FAILING to re-gasket my daughters boyfriends VW Golf sump (petrol 1.4 DOHC). An absolute pig of a job as two of the tiny hex bolts are in holes that are 9" deep and 1cm in diameter. Had to shop around for long, toughened Allen Keys, only to find one of the heads was rounded out. Could not get a drill in to drill out the head so gave up in the end. However, as I had left these difficult bolts til last, all the others were removed and the orginal seal broken. So I had to try and press sealant into the crack and tighten it all up, now it REALLY leaks oil! :(

However, to cheer me up this package arrived from Rob at Off-road Armory....

Martin, we could draw and cut you whole new axle brackets. I would provide you with a set foc for you to test if you like. They would be 6mm steel throughout. would take approximately 7 days for me to draw, cut and post them to you.

PM sent, I will design them to totally replace the factory radius arm brackets, so you will need to grind them off in prep for welding the new ones in place.

They will be 6mm M/S throughout, and I'll aim to get them to you before this time next week.

Just looking as a casing now, and they are quite involved, the panhard bracket and shock mounts are all integrated, so rather than just replacing one part I might as well re-draw the whole lot for you. That ok?... so you'll need to get back to just a bare axle tube apart from the coil saddles and the bump stop saddles.

Would it be an idea to raise the panhard bracket at the same time? Looks like another great product will be born!

Sounds like an idea to me as well.

Although my failed bracket is on the Drivers side (Panhard Bracket is on the other)
