I'm going to do the same, but would rather not take them off.
Would dry better in this weather mind you, but a pain in the ass.

I took them off because I have wire brushed them and degreased them properly.
it could be done in situe on one side, however its not a propper job really, I want to do it right ( even tho just brushed ) and to dry it you could use a heat gun I guess....but still might as well do it right - saves doing it again and having twice the job to do
Cant wait till better weather so I can clean up and paint the entire underbody - I might not be able to afford expensive kits for lift etc, but I can make it better with paint and graft

stick the tin of paint in a tub of hot water..... you can get a pritty good finish if the paints hot when applied

Need to wait for better weather, which is a bummer as I'm off for a few weeks.
I might take 1 wheel off at a time & paint it up & dry it indoors.
Underneath, I've not much chance to get it up on anything - no axle stands or anything.
Keep us posted, I'm interested to see how you get on & how it looks + any tips on how to go about doing wee mods that don't cost the earth.
I got wind deflectors & a few stickers & the windscreen sun visor strip - I might put a bit of it along the top of each headlight, but I'm not sure..lol.

I would go for the 1 off at a time indoors....I sprayed my signum bumpers in our kitchen....wife flipped when we found every plate, every glass, even in cupboards was black lol - but deffo worth doing it right - I painted my signum calipers in a council carpark one day
I even took a moped upto my third floor flat and rebuilt the engine and the rest of it lol.
BTW the garage and shop.... its my dads tho the tools are mostly mine - well the non-wood working ones
No tips as yet for cheap mods, just keep her clean and protected if your skint like me

Gary Whenmouth wrote: im thinking of doing the same, im skint and could probs just afford some paint, as its off the road i can strip my jimny out and just clean it up. I cant decide on how far to go and if to use different colours or just paint it all black. Ive the luxury of a garage to store all the bits to paint and clean up. Thinking if to make up a snorkle out of some cheap flexy pipe. Free/cheap mods!
Adam has made a great looking snorkel, he also has a list of parts and lengths requires.... I have a copy but im not sure if he minds others copying....ask him
Im painting it all black.....but every car/bike I have ends up black lol
