any tall vehicle will tip if you are stupid enough with it.
Remember the merc A class and the smart car, discovery and discovery 2 are also renowned for it - especially if an evasive manouver is carried out on a mountain pass - makes great headlines for the press!!

Just drive sensibly watching the other idiots on the road and it'll be fine

mine on a five inch lift and loads of scadffolding on it can still keep a reasonable speed round a roundabout in the dry - wouldn't dare in the wet though - the mud tyres get twitchy

Exactly the point, if the back end slides, and builds up some sideways momentum, when the slide stops suddenly, (because a wheel hits the kerb maybe, or you lift off the throttle suddenly) it will roll over.

Most people are used to a forgiving FWD car, which is why the breakers see so many.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Welcome Bertbuckie,
You'll need to come along to a Buchan offroad Club meeting, we're at sites at Memsie, Keith, Huntly, Potarch and Fetteresso. The club website www.bordc.net is a bit behind but there's a comittee meeting this week to plan next years calendar. I've been trialling my jimny all season and not managed to put it on it's side at or on the way to the events yet, touching wood as I type. All I've done is a two inch spring lift, extended brake hoses, cut a couple of inches off the front bumper and 30/9.50 15 tyres on the standard rims, does well against the others which mostly have the green oval badge on the front.

On the 8th Day God made the LandRover -
On the 9th day he swapped it for a Jimny.

I might just take you up on that :)
Is it members only or could I come with the wife and watch? Kieth-huntly? where exactly do you go?
I cant say too much about the landy's since I own one, all be it in bits needing a galvy chassis, new bulkhead, etc etc lol - still starts first time everytime tho :D ( after I fitted a new fuel pump and got a mouth full of fuel sucking it through lol - tasty ! )

Where are you from john?

EDIT:- just realised Ive been on that website before...when I got my landy lol, it crossed my mind then as well :)
