So, when are you cracking open the 2013 box to check if it`s closed or open bearings in it?

Maybe you`re inspection cam could reach in to some of them through filling/draining / sensor holes?

Let's see.. If i drive 8000km a year I would be opening it for inspection some time around early days of 2026 :)

But i should be able to put the camera inside. have to swap the sensor and will loosen the filler caps of course. Pictures to come!
if it doesn't look good i could return it as well..

At work, we put 1" plugs for camera or hatches big enough for hands on the gearboxes on clever places to make it possible to look or work inside without a total dismantle..

So my new Gearbox was scheduled for delivery today, but parcel tracking says it was in Bergen 10:07 today Monday.
That is a 6 hour drive south.
It was close to Oslo on the 12th so the postal service must have sent it westward instead of north to me.

The clutch is still in transit somewhere between Hamburg and Norway so no immediate hurry though..

Sorry to hear about the damage mate, always a bummer - seems like you've got it figured out though and £450 for a gearbox is a good find! Best of luck.

New 2013 Gearbox and the exedy clutch in.

Vibrations around 2000rpm -Gone
Trouble with shifting into reverse and first gear when standing still -Gone
Grinding sound from gearbox -Gone
Oil leak from rear of gearbox -Gone
Open bearings in Gearbox -Gone

Had an endoscope camera inside the gearbox and found a closed ball bearing with a green side so this is the upgraded type.
It's like a new car. The gearshifts are more precise, feels tighter, shifts more easy.
Clutch gripping point is now in the middle of the pedal way instead of in the far out to try to make it release properly.

Pretty fiddly job this. Had to postpone it for a week while I was laying tiles in our washroom so I could get the washer machines back in from the Hallway. Couldn't go out to the garage with a family running out of clean clothes.

And as a bonus, plastic steering wheel -Gone.
Changed to a leather steering wheel from the same car as the gearbox.
