If you have brakes on the trailer then there's your answer, move things to the trailer. It's so simple to overload the back of the car.

Temeraire (2018 quasar grey automatic)
R.E.D Retired Extremely Dangerous
Bellerophon (2024 grello van) daily dose of disappointment.

As the trailer is the back end of a Jimny, I will assume that the wheels are the same as your prime mover and that brake drums are available in which case they can be made to work with only a few mods. I built a system to tow my SJ413 behind my Toyota KZJ70.

The trailer has working brakes.
I think part of the problem is the mods on the car like sound deadening and reinforcment and the awning. And weight distribution in the trailer as well as more weight must be put in the trailer and in the back of it.
It can take 750kg so no problem there.
And like every overlander i can leave lots of stuff at home.
Had carpentry tools with me this time and general tools will have space in the trailer usually.

Just over the border in sweden today. Had a 5 hour highway drive to get as far north as possible before going on the trans euro trail. Going North for a few days before returning home for work on monday.

couple of days doing gravel roads in sweden again. nothing special really but found a proper piece of fatwood, the overturned root of a pine tree. Wonderful smell and intense fire.
I must mention that I do not ever light a fire on the ground.
Never on grassland, never without access to water, never in high winds.
I use a fire pit that i carry on the trailer.

turned back into Norway and discovered a new area I havent been to before just wonderful long and winding gravel road up to 1200m above sea level. wide open views.

nice wild camp site with gravel and a creek nearby for a safe little fire.
Returned home via Trollstigen, very touristy place in high season, but late in the evening so got thru pretty fast to meet up with friends for a last camp at the Fjords.
