Well, I've managed to take the roof bars off ;-)
I did notice that there seemed to be a bit of a gap there the threads come through the roof. There seems to be a squished gasket sealant protruding through the gap of the thread/roof so I've put the nuts back on and nipped them up which has squished some of the gasket sealant so I'm hoping that this stops any ingress of water into the roof.
I've cleaned all the muck that's under the feet of the bars ready for the rack fitment, I hope that the 1/3 watering can of water to wash the soap off hasn't got through any gaps :-/

The sealer you have seen is Sikaflex which they use as seam sealer to stop water ingress..

Send the pics when you have it fitted and say hi to Matt and liam for me :)

@Steve
Just out of interest Steve, did you put any tamper proof nuts on to fasten the roof rack?
I'll not sleep now tonight whilst I get some sorted. :-/
I've found these?
Would you be interested in some too?
Are they 6mm thread size? They have a 10mm head size so I'm guessing so?
