Hi everyone.
I'm about to take the standard roof bars off for the fitment of my roof rack on Tuesday.
I'd just like to check with those that have done the same, I'm wanting to make sure that the removal of the bars doesn't cause any holes etc to be exposed to rain etc before I have the new roof rack fitted.
I have a feeling that the threaded studs are welded into the roof and don't have any place for water to get in, but I'd like to make sure before removal.
Ps @Steve :- did you have to put any rubber or similar as a padding between the roof rack and the roof to stop damage and scratches to the roof?
Many Thanks
Richard

Hi Richard
The roof rail bolts are captive (welded in) and will not move when you take the rails off. I used peices of old inner tube cut into strips under my rack and its never moved an inch
