A bit of a picture update today, my Hi-Lift jack turned up last week along with 1mtr & 5mtr strops and 2 shackles. I should really have gone for the 44" jack appose to the 60" as it is huge. It’s not a big deal however as I have it all mounted on the roof so not to lose any boot space.
Fortunately I had some old roof bars kicking around so I have cut these down to the right width and bolted these to the Jimny's roof bars and added some m10 bolts to hold the jack in place, nice and easy
I don’t plan on leaving the jack on the roof all the time however as there are times I may want to leave it there I have made a bracket up to lock the jack too. It has been welded around the roof bar so will not go anywhere.
Mark (Markyp2000) and I brought a set of waffle boards each the other day, Mark thanks again for collecting these.
Next in the to do list is to make some mounts up to hold these on the roof, I am thinking something along the lines of the brackets you see used to hold ladders on roof racks, oh and the next exciting job I have is changing the oil in both Diff's, transfer box and gearbox before fitting some breathers.

I Managed to get around to changing the diff oil today, I say change the diff oil... the front only had about 100ml in there and the rear came out a horrible muddy colour so it was fortunate I decided to do this now, breathers have also been fitted to them both so hopefully it will stay sound for some time.
I received my rear shock brackets from Martin the other day also so these are now on, I hope this will help with how the ride has been very hard over speed bumps, I believe with the spring spacers fitted the rear shocks were topping out of travel and making it very harsh.
I planned to change the transfer box and gearbox oil today also but could not locate where to refill it from so will hopefully have time to do this tomorrow or over the weekend. I also struggled to get the breather cap off the transfer box with such limited space, how have people managed this off and get a hose on there with it so close to the body?

I have almost everything fabricated and tacked up for the recovery points. One of the guys down Fishpond farm will get it all weleded up for me on Monday.

Thanks Dalen, the tires are 205/70/15 and it has 2 inch spring spacers. It's ok, I brought it this way, however I have just fitted the rear shock brackets that Martin sells in the big Jimny shop as I was noticing the shocks top out over speed bumps. Someone provided a link a couple of weeks ago to a full kit with spring spacers and front and rear shock extending brackets. Not sure if this is really a good alternative to replacement springs and shocks but it seems ok in the mean time.

Little picture update on the recovery points Front has been all welded on and painted up, I just need to cut the holes in the bumper so they can poke through. The first picture shows some of the bracing round the back when I first tacked it up before getting it welded by someone who knows what they are doing
Rears are almost there, these holes for the shackles are taking an age to drill however, there 20mm and even with a pillar drill it takes a fair amount of time for each, I am hoping I can get these done tomorrow once I wake up before I have to collect my son from Football.
