Well I'm getting close to a caravan purchase and hopefully will be getting a dealer special New Going Cockpit.
I've done all the tow site info on the car and caravan combo and it lists the combination as having a 'perfect' match.
However I've just looked at the handbook and it lists the 'recommended' limit as 350 kg unbraked and 450 kg braked!
The Going Cockpit is 480 MiRO

Here's the pics of the info.
Can anyone advise on where I need to look for the chassis and what I need to be looking at ie Max Tow Weight?

In the pic of the handbook it's the paragraph at the bottom that counts "local regulation" etc.
The weights you quoted and are in the handbook are ONLY if there is NOT a local regulation and are GENERAL towing limits in the absence of an official weight for the country you are in.
In the UK it's OFFICIALLY 1300kgs so you are well under and even inside the 80% rule that is generally advised by caravan groups etc.
So no need for you to worry about legalities or plates YOU ARE MORE THAN LEGAL and even comply with the towing limits set for new drivers

I've never tried mine without a friction stabiliser hitch.
On my Swift I had the old type " blade" stabilizer but I've fitted a newer stabilizer for the Jimny.
The Alko AKS 1300 is the one you want. They are not cheap but there are usually plenty on ebay.
My caravan tracks as if it's on rails.

My advice would be to also get a camper/motorhome type awning to hitch on the back as these small caravans are fine if you are moving/touring every couple of days but anything longer and it's nice to have an extra room to sit on a couple of comfy camping chairs and eat out of the caravan but obviously you will tailor it to your own needs.
Can't wait to see the pics and find out how you get on.
I presume you know towing mirrors are a legal requirement?
I started off high and worked my way down ever since

That worried me to death :-0
The caravan club match got me worried at first as it put a yellow not good match logo up, but to be fair they don't list the Going Cockpit and I had to use the 300?
Is the maximum towing weight for the uk listed on the chassis plate then? (Instead of the handbook)
It got me more than a little worried as I'm just about to spend £8000

Thanks again
