I know is subjective, but taking the photos at the start of the thread into consideration, mine is not as bad as that but holes are starting to appear in the same places. The trouble is, its booked in for under sealing this weekend and I really should have it welded first, but its worse than I thought when I booked it (and paid a £100 deposit!).
I would be stripping out the rear interior myself and cleaning the surfaces (on the inside) as much as possible before handing it over to a garage to save on labour costs.
Really I want to know if I'm going to be paying £200, £400, £600 or worse, higher!

I found him dead good, took the Jim in one afternoon as arranged and picked it up the next morning.

is that £100 deposit to underseal the jimny ??? sounds alot whats the total cost ??
as for welding it depends how bad it is & if you want the floor patching up or complete new floor welding in
most garages are quite expensive on welding jobs my advise would be buy yourself a mig & do the job yourself it will work out cheaper & you got a welder for the next job
keefe got his done at a real bargain price & looks a quality job too

The total cost is £468, and includes using a power brush and high pressure wash to clear out all the loose rust and 5h1t, then full Waxoyl of underside, sills, box sections etc.
They also said the holes in the floor pan are no problem, and will re-coat it for free when I get the holes welded, so that's good to know. 5 year guarantee that existing rust wont get worse, but that will depend on the state of the rust, but I should be OK.
I know it wont magically kill the rust, I just want it to last as long as possible to give me a chance to get all the bad bits cut out and welded.
This is the firm: www.waxoylprofessional.com/
There is a garage local to me that specialise in car body repairs and restorations. They do free estimates so I will take it there. I accept its going to cost a bit, but then my J is a long term project and I have committed to it now!
