THERES A HOLE IN MY ARSE!!!! was created by thatbigbloke
So i was hoovering my boot out today, lifted up the ply shelf thing under the carpet.
there was abit of loose rust in the tub bit.
put the hoover in to get it out and poked a bloody hole through the floor pan!!!
not a massive problem as it gives me a chance to try out the welder at work, but what i want to know is
has anyone had the same?
looks like some water has gathered in the tray and rotted it out, are jim's prone to a leaky seal somwhere in the boot?

Oh yes! When I was looking at Jimnys at a Jimny specialist garage they all had varying degrees of rot in the boot and around the rear seat belt bolts. Easily fixed I think. The one I bought had been welded and was the best of the bunch.

Most jimnys get it... Mine has a little bit.
Seem to have stopped the patches in front of the seatbelts by cleaning the underside up and undersealing. Touch wood it doesn't return.

I had to weld 16 patches in my floor such is the price of the main dealer only rear floorpans. Then like Adam I undersealed mine, infact I double undersealed it and painted the top surface with epoxy mastic paint just to make sure

Mine has yet to show any sign of rust there but I undersealed the floor pan and hammerited the inner boot floor. It's easier to keep ontop of this when you have a 2" bodylift like I have.

I agree Gromit. Now I have my 2'' bodylift I can see that it will be much easier to keep on top of in the future.
