If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Be careful with that one, some of these modules don't like measuring their own supply voltage and give funny readings.
You can get a nice thermometer that does inside, outside with a probe you stick on the back of the bumper, and a voltmeter for about £12 off eBay, they must be cheaper from a market stall.

I found item 180850108218 for £5.99, so I've just sent for one
I'm hoping it will sit in that cubby next to the clock, but it might be too big.
