Your is obvious, the Smoggy's less so (as you can't see the back of the car which is why I asked) but I'm guessing from the shape of the rear window its a yes

I'm not saying weld splatter did this, it could be from using an angle grinder for cutting the rust out to start with. All I know is, the glass wasn't like that before the repair.


S**t ive just done the same with the grinder. Wish I had read thread sooner. :(

Finished the welding. 16 patches in all :blink: :sick:

Think il make a patchwork quilt if any more holes, anyway a bit of steel plate is a lot cheaper than a main dealer only complete rear floor section at £220 :ohmy:

Ooops!

You'll only notice the 'craters' if you tint the rear side windows.
I tried to do mine, easy peasy on those windows as they're so flat BUT, you could see the 'craters' as they trapped air in them and I couldn't squeegee it out.

Mine is a Feb 2002 hardtop and is completely rust free underneath as the guy that had it before me had it cleaned and recoated every year. MOT guy said he had never seen a 10 year old car in such good condition underneath :)
