Thoughts on building an offroader

Hello again..

This is not as easy as I first imagined
Today I have spent some hours trying to figure out what and how to do it.

And I must admit, it looks like I'm going for a standard but fully equipped Jimny at first. Building an offroader from scratch (bare chassis) is too expensive both on money and on time.

The list as follows:
ARB Airlocker rear and front.
2-3" suspension lift, Procomp or OME
2" bodylift if required
31" tyres, TSL Bogger or perhaps try the cheaper Silverstone MT117 Extreme
Winch, Goldfish TDS
rollcage, external or what is it called ?
And a lot of other things.

Then I have som questions, is it required to install new radius arms when installing new suspension? And what about panhard rod?

Also, what about the transfer box? I've read that some guys switch to a rocklobster transfer box, but they're somewhat expensive, isn't there a cheaper solution to a lower gearing?

And then I can't decide if I should install LC 70-series axles right away

well perhaps except for the somewhat overdimensioned cage over the front part /bonnet.

How tall is the suspension/bodylift - if anyone knows?

What are those tyres, Silverstone or Simex?

Arh, one of the pictures says Silverstone

they are 31 inch sliverstone extremes and its has a 3inch supercomp 1000s lift lit and a 1 1/4 body lift

did you make the rollcage yourself?

What about the axles, are the all standard? and the radius arms as well?

So the aesthetics of the external cage may change a little. When I've designed it (measured the truck), I'll upload the bend tables & BendTech files to make it easy for anyone else to replicate the main hoops at the very least.

I'll make it very close (<10mm) from the bodywork. If it sticks out too far it looks like a mobile climbing frame! The main advantage of a Jimny is the small size - so you want to loose as little of that advantage as possible with the cage.

It will be made in 1 3/4" x 2.5mm wall CDS T45 tube.
