OK another update. Fitted the new rad, new anti freeze etc. Seemed to take much more than it did with the old rad...

Started her up and after 20 mins of tick over the temp guage is slightly above C for cold. Need to take her for a run but its looking good so I'm a happy bunny at the mo.

Noticed rear of drivers side front hub is wet (grease/oil), passenger side is dry. Will worry about that later

She had sat there for a week (normal next day delivery for the rad was buggered up by Easter hols), and started on the button. Hopefully I can now get to enjoy her.

Once I'm happy the overheating issues are sorted I will give her a service. Almost £80 for oil was rather shocking

OK, looks sorted :)

Normal around town driving today with the heater in cold the temp guage went up to about a 1/4. Jumped on the dual carriageway for some 60+mph and the guage never went above (just below) 1/2 way so happy days.

Popped into Halfords and picked up an air filter. £18 odd :( Should have got a KN panel filter.

Glad you've got it sorted. I'm sure you'll have worked out that the front hub issue is likely to be kingpin bearings.

If you live near me why don't you use millfield auto's for parts. I think the last are filter i got was at least half what you paid at halfrauds.

Black Jimny's don't get stuck!

Took the Jimny on a 193 mile return trip (mainly A roads and motorways) and all was good :)
