Put new bushings in the Leaf springs on my 1984 gen2.
bought a complete kit on ebay from India and they all fit just fine for the front.
But the rear leaf spring had rusty steel liner in the front eye of the leaf springs that i removed. now the bushings was too small at 38mm and the eye on the spring was 42mm. Not sure if this is a difference in springs on the 84 models or what..
So back on the Internjet and ordered two bushings from a euro car part store. they too were too small so made a set of 42x3mm pipe inserts for the eyes in leaf springs and ground the rubber bushing down with a drill and a angle grinder with a flap disc to fit the pipe inserts at 36mm. Made a tool from a large bolt and washers and pressed them in and got the car back together.
Two major oil leaks away from getting it ready for the MOT now.
