At the end, you'll have a pile of greasy gloves, maybe fifty pence worth, that will go in the tip ... but cleanup will be so easy you will feel five pounds richer.

Surgeons gloves. Nitrile or equivalent. Come in boxes of 50, buy two and put on a new set at each step of the process when doing kingpins (or any other greasy task). Don't be frugal with them.
Today I will be mostly doing kingpin bearings on Spare Jimny.
For the record.
I bleeding HATE grease!
I know it's necessary and useful but it gets everything covered in slippery dirty horrible goo.

It is hovering around freezing here, some snow and ice here and there but overall a good time to be doing tree maintenance. Ground is firm and trees are sleeping.
We spent the last few days at the neighbour's property, pruning some overgrown old trees before the snows brought down any more branches. We packed the Jimny with a fifteen horse wood chipper, two chain saws, fuel, and all of our gear, and apart from the pole saw handles sticking up toward the gearlever it was totally unremarkable. Had to break the chipper down, of course, but that is nothing.
It is probably wrong to use the word "capacious" for the Jimny, but it really is impressive how much stuff you can get into that conveniently cube-shaped load area.
Now excuse me while I get another aspirin, woodsmen's work really is a young man's game...

Today I drove temeraire actually empty empty of everything for the first time in longer than I care to remember. OMG she's literally like a Bentley Continental, fast, smooth, quiet, responsive, and and stops on a ha'penny! I dread to know how much all the junk I have just been too idle to remove weighs in total but it surely makes a difference!

Not today but yesterday I swapped my low geared transfer case for a used with the original gears. as suspected all the noises gone.
The used transfer case was bought at a swedish breaker last summer. had been fiddled with so loose bolts around the actuator and leaking oil at the lid for the small actuator gear wheel but fixed before installing and works fine now.
Will take the low geared case down into the basement workshop for the winter for an overhaul. Hoping there is an obvious fault on bearings or something I can replace. Trail Gear 17/87%.

It was a few days ago, but I picked mine up from the dealership on a sunny morning in Denmark.
Tomorrow, I will have my new Toyo Open Country tyres fitted.
I'm new to the forum and I hope I'm posting correctly.
