Ok let me rephrase that,

It will be gun gummed until the weather is nice and warm and I don't mind laying under it, or until the mot is due, whichever is first :laugh: haha

Today Dieter and i did fit a D&G tuning 4.16 Transfer Box under the Jimny.
Tuesday we will change front and rear bearings, and fit a suspension guard kit.

Just bagged myself some ignis recaros for just £120. Thanks for the idea.

I've had a fiddle with my Recaros tonight, it looks as if the only part to modify is the rear seat back adjuster bar as the Ignis bar is splined and the Jimny bar has tabs on to operate the adjuster and it seems about 40mm too short so I will need to lengthen them. Thank god I got my mig welder back!

I ditched all the Ignis seat frames and modified and fitted the seats to the Jimny frames. I cut my standard Jimny bar, tapped the inside of each end and used threaded bar and lock nuts to make the longer. (Not sure if later Jimny seats use the same spline design at the Ignis?)



You can leave the inside rails standard. The outer rail rear mounting tab needs trimming shorter and a new hole drilling closer to the rail.

The outer rail front tab needs lengthening slightly so I fabbed some steel, modified the bracket and welded the extensions on.

The Recaro seat bottoms and backs bolt directly to the standard Jimny seat frames.

Finally trimmed all the plastic covers to fit.

Only thing left to look at is modifying the arm rests on the door cards to clear the wider bolsters.

Fitted my drivers side recaro, only had to extend the bar, similar to you bit lazy and just welded a bar inside. Not had to trim anything as it all lined up nice. These seats should have been fitted to the jimny from the factory! They are so comfy! And the perfect fit

Picked my jimny up this morning from J999pre ,BIG Thanks to James my jimny now has plenty more POWER! kept at 70mph for most of the M65 even in 5th gear up some long hills. Not bad considering the heavy weight of my jimny, Rocklobster and 31' tyres. I recommend the M16a conversion with a Kap supplied 5 paddle clutch. And James has done a Top Job!

Got rid of the annoying beeping you get when leaving the keys in the ignition.so annoying.found that the beeping actually comes from the back of the clocks,you can remove this but you loose the warning tone for leaving the lights on.i found a guide that says you could dissconnect a wire under the little inspection flap under the steering wheel but my jimny didnt have this 2000 x plate.so after tracing the wires to a main connector snipped the wire bit of tape and done.couple of pics

Also changed the heater control bulb while i was on.

Nice job. I have a green and blue wire under there that have had the snip. I wonder if it is, or was, for that.

More than likely,was so sick of it so had to get it dissconnected.
