Work has been ongoing, but mainly on the visuals. I looked it little dark and dumpy so a few days with hammerite (in freezing conditions outside) and some ebay stickers have updated it.
On the scissor ramp just finishing off
Tread sticker - I have since altered the front as I didn't like the sharp cut off of the sticker
And finally back on four wheels

Arghhhh, bloody jeep. Today was a quick finish off of the front suspension and get it ready for the trial on Sunday. I fitted a CB which all went to plan and was quite enjoyable, then decided to change out slipping alternator belt for a new one. Once I stripped out the belts off, I noticed the water pump was completely goosed (funnily enough not leaking) but the play in the shaft was massive, hence the alternator belt slipping. Phoned around at 5pm and managed to get a water pump sourced for tomorrow, but I had the strip down the entire front of the engine including taking the timing belt off
Now I've gotta get it all rebuilt tomorrow night, if I want to go trailing on Sunday.

Thanks Daniel, I drove 30 miles to pick the promised water pump today from the motor factors, and the pump was completely different, they are getting the right one for Monday, so thats me missing the trial on Sunday
Maybe next time

I was out today with the NYCD laners for its first big trip, 150 miles and around 20 off road greenlaning. It did very well, I had an issue with a misfire that I sorted out quickly, but then realised after I got home that a front shock had ripped of the axle (usual weak spot). Overall I prefer greenlaning in it then my old defender, the suspension is softer, the clutch lighter, seating position better and less draughts! On the down side it was terribly slow on the hills, but I'm hoping the rocklobster will help with that. I could also do with some less aggressive 215 tyres for road/laning.

Today's job - Change out the castor corrected radius arms for Jimnybits ones. The original ones I think were quite old and probably for a +2" lift, which was bowing the front springs, so I updated them to Jimny bits suitable for a +3" lift and new superpro bushes to compliment them.
At the same time the shock absorber lower mount had sheared off on the last green lane day, so I wanted to strengthen these. I started with Jimnybits front shock guards, but as these use the original mounts, I had to scrape off the plastic coating and then weld in some angle iron to pick up on the lower shock mount.
I'm hoping to get it all fitted tomorrow
