Repairs are becoming rather expensive! I have now already got / on order -
Front and Rear Wheel Bearings (rear nearside and front offside have gone, so thought I'd better do them all!)
Replacement extended brake lines (front offside has gone, so thought I'd do both fronts)
Kingpin bearings (now it's stripped again I thought I might as well replace them too)
Front Brake Calipers (both seized - one solid 'cold welded' in )
Free Wheel Hubs (one in pieces internally, both had to be drilled / easy-out'ed to get them off!)
Complete set of tie rod ends (got a slight wobble recently, so again, while it's in pieces...)
Open Front Diff (as LSD sheered one bearing mount off)
Possibly a rear prop (as current one has spiralled splines)
And local garage labour to fit the 4 new wheel bearings
This had better be all S200KYS needs for a while, or it's getting sold / taken out to the forests and torched! :woohoo:

Its just one of those things Dave, the nature of the beast with this kind of duty.
All part of the fun surely!
........Unlike my Discovery, which seems to need a constant supply of parts and it doesn't get taken to anywhere near these extremes (a wet field now and again would be a better description). Still, its hopefully soon getting replaced with a Hilux Surf. Jimny going well as always though happily.
Cheers.
Paul.

Nice and shiny
I have tyrex hubs on J999 MNY. Do the job but the covers are plastic coated to look chrome. Where's the prop from? RW? I could do with a new one myself

Hi Paul Yes, it's been well behaved for a good while, but is now requiring some TLC...
Yes, shiny Riccy! Ummm, no, it's from a well known purveyor of "Jimny Bits"...
I'll take a photo of the splines, I'm sure it's come off something military! :woohoo:

That's probably better than my old ones then... I had to drill a couple of the long cap bolts out, and one came out with an "easy-out" (reverse thread stud extractor) into the splined screw head... Only to find the base of the hub in pieces internally The one good one will go in the parts box in the back of S200KYS incase anyone of us need it when we're out and about though
