I'm not a fan of auto this and that, partly for the reasons described. I'm one of the old folk that still operate aspects of the vehicle according to my observation of the need. Avoids all this unnecessary hassle of them not operating correctly or momentarily.

Go old school, it's the future ;)

some degree of automation is necessary to try and overcome the lack of intelligence of the typical driver, although sometimes it has the reverse effect.

The number of people that think that driving in foggy conditions with only their modern DRLs on "because the automatic lights will come on if I need them" totally ignoring the fact that they've got no rear lights on at all and that the other idiot driving up behind them at speed won't see them until he hits them.

I would suggest, taking worst case scenario in to account! Fitting the fire extinguisher within reach of the drivers seat? Imagine you have managed to roll the Jimny, are trapped inside and flames start licking your feet, extinguisher will be no good out of reach.
