anti roll bar? was created by richard
is it a wise idea to take the front one off for more twist offroad. i'v been told to get rid of it, with a good set of dampers it wont make that much difference on the road.

What you all think? or have you already took your off.

please help cos it sounds like a good cheap mod to do :P

its up to yourself, the anti roll bar stops body roll and extra suspension movement, not a thing you want off road.

i took mine of months ago and didn't really notice any difference to the drive, but off road it was way better,

ive only just ordered one of martins steering damper kits today, as a 3" lift is going on in the next month

i doubt you'll notice any change

i took mine off and didnt notice any difference but i dont drive like a hooligan !!
its easy to take off so give it ago and if you dont like it stick it back on. have a look underneath, if you've got a socket set it will be off in no time :)

think this is a kind of grey area but they way im lead to believe it is,

if its there its tested if its not it cant be tested,

in other words i think if the bracket is still on you will need to put it back on, but if you grind the bracket off then theres nothing to say it was there and there fore they cant test it.

whip it off run it for a week or so see how it is and if you dont notice any difference then take the bracket off as well,

if you feel a difference and dont like it the stick it back on.

My understanding is that all elements of a vehicle related to safety installed by the manufacturer have to be present for the MOT test.

However if the examiner doesn't spot it because it isn't there...

ive checked with a few mot testers, all have said, if its not there i cant test it, if i cant test it i cant fail it

had it confirmed by 3 local mot testers that my jimny will pass a mot without it, so no need to refit

I know this is an old thread but I think im going to remove mine at the weekend. What shocks do people use without there anti roll bar? I have ES3000's with a 3" lift and they seam very stiff so im hoping it wont make too much difference when I remove it.
