I'm only getting around 33/34mpg from both my lcv & SZ5 but both are fitted with BFG mud terrains and suspension lifts. Driving is mainly around town so 30mph mostly. I have seen 37/38 on a good run but can't seem to get anywhere near that recently. I do believe that fuel from different stations does vary in quality and affects the mpg in a Jimny. In the winter I was having to use a different filling station and the car was getting higher mpg. Now I'm back to my more local garage and mpg seems to be back down again.......

We use a shell fuel card for farm milage. I would definitely support the idea that expensive fuel does seem to make a difference, it might be small but being in business it's worth following up.

2019 SZ5 Auto with 215/75R15 AT tyres. Best 43mpg, worst 28mpg, average 34.71mpg. Taken from pump fills rather than the trip computer.

One thing I've noticed is that yiu get much better fuel economy if you fill up with 150km of range left on the trip computer.
if yiu run the tank out the last 10lt seems to just fly out. Also off road it burns it really fast in 4x4 so I leave it in 2wd, then put it in 4H for 90% of off road stuff on the fly when needed and only put it in 4L for the really tricky stuff.

Also (if it's anything like an old Defender) the ride quality is improved with a full tank of gas, due to the weight.

That's probably just the fuel guage which is non-linear, most are.  I can run my Gen4 down to no fuel showing and then only get 33L in until it is full, seems it should have 7L left which is another 50-60 miles, always assuming I can get it all down the pipe.

That suggests to me that you were using 4x4 when you didn't need it. The system is part time, and designed to allow shifting into 4x4 on the move at up to 60mph so you can easily slip into 4wd if needed and then back to 2wd as soon as possible. The extra fuel used when in 4x4 reflects the extra wear and tear put on the drivetrain.

A bit, just to test it out, but I've done the same with the jimny that I did with all my other 4x4's and the jimny is the only one that has burned that much fuel.
