to add as well it may be possible the ecu can be adapted to use other mixtures. but I haven't studied too hard on that, so don't take it as gospel.

The Jimny engine has a knock sensor, so it can adapt the timing to some extent. Suzuki specify 95RON so I assume the knock sensor is there to save the engine if lower octane fuel is used.

I ran a tank of E10 95 and a tank of E5 97 octane and I can't say I noticed any power difference and MPGeees was still 32-33.

I think most of the instances of people noticing an improvement when using higher octane fuel are due to the extra cleaning additives most premium fuels contain, essentially restoring performance lost over time rather than giving extra.
Ethanol is a very good cleaning agent and will help to maintain performance, so occasionally running a tank of premium won't yield the same results it used to.

I'm finding that the mpg of Temeraire is starting to stabilise and is getting closer to what I expected from an automatic on less energy dense fuel. I am putting this down to the cleaning effect of the additional ethanol and the after effects of a running in period that probably didn't involve the top half of the rev range. I could easily believe that much of the inlet system was filthy so e10 is currently not causing me too much concern.

One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.

Am I reading this correct, and the new E10 is actually cleaning the fuel lines / intake? Does this mean I don't need the Redex stuff anymore?
Cheers

Yes, the injectors will run cleaner with more ethanol in the fuel. Also the hydroscopic nature of ethanol means there is normally a small amount of water suspended in the fuel and this will decarbonise the engine. So much cleaner running overall!
