I took the spare wheel off stepped back and thought now there’s a job I need to do. The grinder came out all I need is for the rust converter and black hammerite to be delivered.

Took some doors to the stables to repair the stable walls !
All legal...ish, Cromer's blue transport directory says 30% overhang is allowed. They were lashed to the baton across the rear which was lashed to a secure anchor point....seat belt stays.
Only 3 miles anyway ....but 2 off those miles definitely off road.

I've seen worse! Having said that it is a constant source of amazement just what I can fit inside Dreadnaught before having to resort to the roof system!

  I once tied five 8x4 sheets of marine ply to the top of an MG Midget, drove from Hull to York, and while I was stopped at some traffic lights, some smart arse said " it'll look great when it's finished, mate" :S

I'm planning to live forever.....so far, so good !!

Took delivery of the recovery points today purchased via Alibaba. Ordered on the 26th of April and took delivery of them today. Came with nuts, washers and bolts. Bolts marked JL 8.8. Have fitted the front left one as this requires no trimming of the front bumper. Only took about 10 Minutes. Happy with the recovery points themselves, 8mm thick, welding and finish all looks fine. Certainly an improvement on the tie down points. Not sure about the nuts and bolts as don't yet know what 8.8 means. Will do some research and determine if the nuts and bolts supplied are fine as they are. Some photos below. Will install Front right at the weekend.

Not quite sure why the pics appear to have rotated 90 degrees. Sorry about that.

They are good bolts indeed however I would recommend giving them a lick of paint as they rust like a b*tch. Same ones came with my radius arm mounts and they were fully corroded in the space of two months. Didn't quite matter on my old car.. but it might be a bit strange on your lovely rust free new Jimny!
