That's quite clever. I have done similar with grease in the past but like the voice-over said its a messy job.

And... I went back to Plan A !
Local fella with my old gearbox in storage never appeared, I saw on facebook that he'd been away for the weekend in his motorhome, so I messaged him Tuesday and heard nothing back...
So early this morning I messaged James (Priestley) again, and asked if it was okay if I flew up today to pick up the gearbox he had...
I've just got back... cuppa tea and a butty, and then dropped the gearbox off at the garage, so we're all happy, and ready for fitment on Friday...
I could of waited to see if the local gearbox turned up, but I wasn't holding my breath, so I decided with Wednesday being my day off in the week it was a lot safer to go and get it today, so that the lads have got a gearbox to fit back in on Friday, with a new clutch, etc, etc... I'd rather end up with a spare gearbox than none at all
Time to walk the dogs, and then I'm off for my second jab

If we all moved to the same village, let's call it Jimny Somerville we could have one provided by a small subscription that everyone could use. That is a brilliant idea, a village that only has Jimny and Jimny derived cars.

I love the idea of Jimny Somerville.
I hope it would be a Small Town, Boy, that's a great idea. Love and Money would keep it running, but it Ain't Necessary So easy to share the four post lift.
Something to Live For?
Someday We'll Be together, it would be Heaven Here on Earth.

Few little jobs today...
Not the sort of day for going out in a buggy anyway!
When I got the buggy back from the garage the gearstick was all sloppy, a quick ask on facebook* and someone soon pointed out that the bush often gets dislocated and hides in a corner of the remote box...
So I took it all apart and fingered around inside until I found the bush indeed hiding in a corner, refitted it and reassembled, and all good, the sloppiness had gone
I then fitted the gearbox filler hatch lid in place -
And bolted it up nice and tight - save my feet getting wet!...
I then shortened the gearbox breather tube, as the mechanics who did the clutch had noticed it ran quite close to the exhaust, and would probably melt...
I then braved the rain and went for a test drive and to refuel.... all seems good.
Just need to sort out a fast idle issue, so about to have a search through the forum and the Wiki.
* I've since logged off facebook for a while, I just find it's all a bit too negative at the moment...
